What is in a fruit tea?
Fruit teas are herbal blends of dried fruit pieces such as apple, pineapple, berries and citrus, often with hibiscus, rosehips or flowers for color and tartness. Most contain no tea leaves, so they are caffeine-free.
How do I brew fruit tea hot?
Use 1 to 1.5 teaspoons per 8 oz cup and water at about 205°F. Steep 5 to 7 minutes. Fruit pieces are dense, so a longer steep brings out more flavor without turning bitter.
How are the Cold Brew blends different?
Cold Brew blends are made to steep directly in cold water. Cold Brew Lemon Refresher, for example, uses 2 to 3 teaspoons per 14 oz of cold water and is ready in 15 to 20 minutes.
Why do fruit tea pieces stick together?
Dried fruit holds natural sugars and some moisture, so pieces can clump in a humid kitchen. Keep the bag tightly sealed and away from steam, and simply break up clumps with a spoon.
