About honeybush tea

Honeybush grows in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa, and its blossoms smell of honey. Honeybush Pure is the plain leaf, with a warm amber cup that is mellow, floral and never bitter.

For flavored options, try Caramel Almond Apple, French Lemon Ginger or White Peach Rose. Honeybush is a close cousin of rooibos, so if you enjoy one, the other is worth a try.

Honeybush tea FAQ

What is the difference between honeybush and rooibos?

Both are caffeine-free South African herbal teas with a similar red-amber cup. Honeybush comes from a different plant and tastes a little sweeter and more floral, with a honey-like finish.

How do I brew honeybush tea?

Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per 8 oz cup and water at 205°F. Steep 3 to 5 minutes. Honeybush is very forgiving, so a longer steep gives a fuller cup without turning bitter.

Does honeybush need sugar?

Most people find it sweet enough on its own. You can add a splash of milk for a creamy cup, or a little honey if you like it sweeter.

Can I make iced honeybush tea?

Yes. Brew it double strength, cool it, and pour over ice with a slice of lemon. It also cold brews well in the fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
