Origin: China

Huo Shan Huang Ya is a rare Yellow tea produced in the Huoshan area of Anhui province. Yellow Tea is relatively unknown to the majority of tea drinkers here in the west, as it is a rare and special variant of green tea. This tea was created and quickly became famous during the Tang dynasty.

It is made from slender buds and processed by traditional pan firing. It smells fresh and refreshing, floral and bright with a subtle chestnut fragrance. Once steeped, the tea liquor is yellowish green; it tastes mellow and thick, it is sweet, and reminiscent of sweet buttered corn. Huo Shan Huang Ya Yellow Tea is very unique and refreshing.

This non-organic version has more flavor than the other yellow, which is organic. I can't say i smell or taste anything flowery, just more buttery. It's delicious, esp when i add 1 drop of my english toffee extract. It enhances the buttery, nutty flavor.

This is unlike any other tea I have tried so far. I agree with the description: chestnut fragrance and sweet buttered corn taste. Delicious! Worth trying for sure!

This tea has a delicious buttery, slightly nutty flavor that blends well with a bit of amber sugar or honey. This yellow tea tastes almost identical to the same "mall tea" but at Tealyra's price I can easily enjoy this tea anytime! This is my first tea from Tealyra, and I'm definitely impressed!

This tea starts out light like a white tea and seemed to gain more flavor and body. Notes of butter & chestnuts and a bit of sweetness. Light and refreshing.
