Description

This is a unique tea to be sure, and we are proud to offer it to you in limited quantities here at Tealyra! This tea grows on wild trees in Simao, Yunnan China, and is harvested exclusively in March. The tea was delicately picked with stems attached, and was processed using the same technique used for Yue Guang Bai; after pan-frying and rolling, the tea wilts briefly before dried in a tunnel tube to slowly halt the oxidation of the tea.

The large dry leaf gives off an aroma of pungent current and is leather-like; it is definitely interesting! Once steeped, the funky aroma melts away and this one of a kind wild tree tea has a thick, syrupy tea liquid that has flavors of deep floral, fruit, with sugarcane notes and has a long-lasting chaqi. Linger over this fine wild tea by enjoying multiple steeps.

Wild Tree Purple Moonlight White is unique and delicious and is sure to age and mature beautifully, removing any of the bitterness, simply enhancing its rich fruity characteristics.

I recently discovered this tea, and it quickly became my favorite white tea. It is flavorful and unusual. Even my husband, who is not nearly the tea enthusiast I am, recognized how special this tea is. I cannot wait to buy more when it is restocked.

I think the description of these tea is spot on. Incredible fruitiness, combined with a sweet flowery notes. An incredible find, could only be appreciated by true tea enthusiasts. Also it’s recommended to use a lower temperature since the tea comes from the Ye Zheng purple tree variety, it possesses a bit of extra bitterness and astringency, that contributes to this tea’s complexity as it ages. Supreme pickings as well. A masterpiece of tea expertise!

Lovely refreshing taste. To me, it's like a combination of blackberries and grapefruit. Unusual and more-ish.

I would definitely do shorter brews with this tea as it becomes astringent. The flavour profile was of hay, slightly grassy and woodsy
