Matcha powder, a bamboo whisk (chasen), a scoop (chashaku) and a wide bowl. A small sifter helps prevent lumps. A milk frother works for lattes, but a bamboo whisk gives the best foam for traditional matcha.
Rinse it in warm water right after use, without soap, and let it dry standing on a whisk holder so the tines keep their shape. Soaking it briefly in warm water before whisking softens the tines and helps them last.
