Makes great tea, no separate tea pot necessary. Place tea in strainer, set in pot above water level, heat to boiling, remove from stove, push tea down into the water, set timer. Pull up strainer when tea ready, and pour. Ready for new water for the 2nd tea...just repeat. Simple to use, nice to view. It supplants all of our tea pots.
I loved this teapot for one whole year. It was a Christmas gift and I’ve enjoyed using it. Tonight, Christmas Eve, I made my tea as usual and the bottom of the teapot cracked in a perfect circle and broke, with hot water flowing all over my stove and floor. Oh, how I will miss making tea in this lovely and useful teapot. Thanks for one good year.
It arrived with some scratches to the top wooden part and doesn't seem to be super well made (the "bamboo" lid on the top bubbles if it gets too hot), but it works as it should!

I used the teapot without the infuser happily for years, but when it finally have up, I bought this one with the infuser, which cracked first time put. Going back to the old design
Very attractive but the first time I used it I somehow managed to knock out the "pin" that holds the hinged "plunger". Not easy to get back in the holes. I did get it back together but not sure how long it will hold. It should have been made more secure. Also it would be helpful to have a maximum water level mark.
Beautiful kettle and great to have diffuser. The only downside and only reason I would not recommend this is, over time, the bamboo lid cracks and eventually breaks from all the steam over continued use. There is no way to really fix the top, either, as the steam is so strong from boiling the water/tea. Therefore, once the top breaks, pretty difficult to use the kettle. Need to change the material of the lid to glass or silicone.
