Origin: Japan

Gyokuro Premier also known as Jade Dew, is the absolutely highest grade of Japanese green tea! Cherished and sought after by tea connoisseurs all over the world, Gyokuro is a rare Japanese green tea variety that is shaded for a minimum of two weeks before harvesting; this will naturally boost the levels of chlorophyll in the leaf- which produces a unique, deep, and sweet cup of green tea! Organically grown Gyukuro Premier of this quality is rarely exported, and rather difficult to buy, we here at Tealyra have gone to great lengths to procure for your pleasure!

Harvested just once annually during the spring, our shade grown Gyrokuro’s increased levels of chlorophyll add depth, flavor, color and complexity to the tea, and significantly increases its nutritional content as well. Our Gyokuro Premier has a silken mouthfeel, it is rich, deep in color and flavor, is slightly buttery and savory.

We highly recommend that you pay special attention to the water temperature and steeping time; it is important to never use boiling water!

If you enjoy green tea this tea has an amazing flavor. I enjoy iced tea and brew this tea at least every other day with a pitcher in the refrigerator. I know those of you who are tea experts may cringe but I enjoy this way of preparing my tea a lot.

My favorite green tea so far. Not at bitter like some green teas. Can maje three really great infusions per teaspoon.

I compared 3 similarly priced Gyokuro varieties: Gyokuro Ureshinocha, Gyokuro Premier, and Yame Gyokura Grade 1. I found the Gyokuro Premier and Yame Gyokuro Grade 1 to be indistinguishable from each other. Both of these varieties yielded tea with a richer and better flavor than Gyokuro Ureshinocha. In all case, I heated 8 oz of water to 130F and steeped with 1 tsp of tea leaves for 1 minute.

J'adore ce thé. Très doux et à la fois goûteux. Un beau vert de qualité. Il fait parti de mes thés verts préféré.

I'm quite taken with its delicate grassy fragrance the pretty colour of the infusion. I now have several teas in my collection, but it's the one I reach for the most.
