Description

This tea is from the Mangalam Estate in northeastern India, a region which is one of the largest black tea producers in the world. This is BOP grade (Broken Orange Pekoe); be careful, broken leaves infuse very quickly.

It tastes deliciously malty, and is a rich and spicy tea with a bright cup and a strong liquor. It's a must for lovers of Assam.

Preparation:
Use 1 tsp of tea per 8oz/200ml of water. Heat water to 205F/95C and steep for 2-3 minutes.

I have tried many of the premium assams and this tea tasted quite different from them. My first impulse was to bury it in my orange pekoe:-P which I didn't do because I didn't want to change the taste of that tea. I found after a week or so that it did grow on me. I probably won't order it again as I prefer the Ceylon Orange Pekoe. That said, I should try making it with some bottled water rather than the well water. Might make a difference.
