Description
Izu Premium Matcha – Vibrant Everyday Japanese MatchaIzu Premium Matcha is naturally grown on the Izu peninsula near Tokyo, Japan, from traditional tencha leaves that are shaded toward the end of the growing period. This careful shading produces the richest flavor and a deep, vibrant green color, the hallmarks of quality matcha. The signature sweet Izu aroma is balanced by a lightly astringent base and a slight bitterness at the end of the cup, creating a complex tasting experience and a distinctive flavor that's truly one of a kind. It's a high-quality traditional matcha with a fine, light consistency that whisks up beautifully. We've recently upgraded our Izu Premium Matcha, and we're proud to offer an even better, smoother and less bitter matcha at our excellent prices. Tasting Notes

Questions about Izu Premium Matcha
Is Izu Premium Matcha good for lattes?
Yes, it is our everyday matcha and works great in lattes. Whisk 1 teaspoon (2 g) with 1 oz (30 ml) of water at about 175°F (80°C) until smooth, then add 5–6 oz (150–180 ml) of warm or cold milk. Almond and oat milk work well too.
How do I make iced matcha without a whisk?
Put 1 teaspoon of matcha and 6–8 oz (180–240 ml) of cold water or milk in a jar, close it and shake for 20–30 seconds, then pour over ice.
Can I bake or cook with it?
Yes. Its bright color and balanced flavor hold up in smoothies, cakes and cookies. Start with 1–2 teaspoons per recipe.
What is the difference between Izu Premium and Samurai Matcha Ceremony?
Izu Premium is a versatile everyday matcha from shade-grown tencha leaves on the Izu peninsula, with a light, pleasant bitterness that stands up to milk. Samurai Matcha Ceremony is hand-picked in Japan's Obuku valley and is smoother and more mellow, best enjoyed with just water.
How should I store matcha?
Keep it sealed, away from light, heat and moisture. After opening, store it in the fridge and use it within about 2 months for the best color and flavor. Let it come to room temperature before opening so no condensation gets in.
How many servings are in a pack?
About 25 servings per 50 g, 50 per 100 g and 100 per 200 g (2 g per serving).
