Really loved it! Strong flavor with only a hint of bitterness (which I like), beautiful color and aroma. I'd recommend, in general, that Tealyra specifies which cultivars are present in their matchas, I'd welcome that.

I have been drinking matcha since I was a teenager and I have tried many different kinds of matcha and brands of matcha. I have to say that Samurai Matcha Ceremony is my favorite and best matcha I have ever had! It is a wonderful deep green and the favor is smooth with no bitterness. It tastes so good paired with a good milk and stevia! I will keep coming back her for my matcha for years to come!!!

FRThis was my first time ordering from Tealyra, and I’m beyond impressed. I’ve tried several matchas before, always on the lookout for one that balances quality and price—and I think I’ve finally found it. The flavor and color are outstanding, and at this price point, it’s hard to beat. I highly recommend it for matcha latté lovers (though I haven’t tested it in baking yet)!

Questions about Samurai Matcha Ceremony

Is this matcha for drinking or for cooking?

For drinking. It is a smooth, mellow ceremonial-style matcha meant to be whisked with water, and it also makes a silky latte. For baking, Culinary Matcha is the better value.

How do I prepare a bowl of matcha?

Sift about 1 teaspoon (2 g) into a bowl, add 2–3 oz of water at about 175°F (80°C), not boiling, and whisk in a quick "M" or "W" motion until a fine foam forms.

Why does my matcha have lumps?

Matcha clumps easily. Sift it through a small strainer before adding water, and whisk briskly with a bamboo whisk (chasen).

How long does a 50 g pack last?

About 25 bowls at 2 g (1 teaspoon) per bowl, or up to 50 if you use 1 g.

How do I keep it fresh?

Close it tightly after each use and keep it in a cool, dark place. Once opened, the fridge is best. Use it within 1–2 months for the brightest color and flavor.
